Has the NSA been peeking in Bitcoin’s window all this time (even before the window existed)?

After all, the National Security Agency knew about Bitcoin before it even existed… What are we talking about? Well, apparently, the NSA made a report in 1996 about a future crypto-digital trade unit very similar to Bitcoin. Since cryptocurrency only surfaced in 2009,  either they had a crystal ball or they were talking about their worst fears and learning how to fight them.

The information described in the document is astonishingly close to the present reality. And not only because of the architectural structure of the futuristic unit illustrated in the report, but also because this unit also mimics the real characteristics of our monetary system, like usury or scarcity.

We could go all “conspiracy-crazy” around this subject, but it’s not that far from reality to say that this report seems more like a design or a plan than just a prediction.

This report from the NSA plunges deeply into digital coin challenges and lists the problems with security and regulation. Practically, everything we’ve been living and seeing so far. The only difference from what we’re used to is that this document is made from the point of view of regulators and developers.

And that’s not all. Ready for the final blow? One of the key writers of this document is called Tatsuaki Okamoto! Similar to the name of Bitcoin’s mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto? You can bet on it!

We don’t know about you, but this report has left our mouth wide open…
